Course details
In this hands-on session, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of creating intricate, festive stars that capture the elegance of this very traditional craft.
Each of these stars is modular and easy, although increasingly intricate to make.
A choice of paper - origami, tracing or recycled are available to use and try.
Sian has a degree in 3D Design (Theatre) from Wimbledon School of Art, She has worked as a prop maker, scene painter, and calligrapher; she also works in Education. Origami is a constant source of pleasure and fascination to her and has led her to be involved in projects at Imperial College and Bletchley Park as well as establishing several origami clubs and workshops.
Origami is a magical art form, transforming a simple, flat sheet of paper into countless shapes and representations using only your hands. No glue, scissors, staples, or tape—except in rare cases—is needed. This ancient practice continues to evolve, blending tradition with modern creativity. ‘In my experience it is fascinating, delightful, methodical and satisfying’. Origami’s influence extends far beyond art, with surprising applications in architecture, design, and science. Its foundation lies in the principles of mathematics and physics, while its beauty stems from its aesthetic appeal.

We are not able to accommodate children in our classes, nor do we provide children’s classes at this time.
All of our longer courses are exchangeable up until 28 days prior to the start of the course. After this, you are able to change your booking to a different course for a £20 admin fee. Please note that from 14 days prior to the start of the course, your booking is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Our refund policy is strict because it enables us to pay ourselves and our tutors a fair wage, and remain accessible as a studio. Every time we are asked to to accommodate a refund request , we would be forced to lower our staff wages or increase our prices – both of which we really want to avoid. We hope you understand that this is why there are no exemptions to our refund policies.
